(National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, NIOSH) Revised Lifting Equation (NLE), 미국정부산업위생전문가협의회(American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, ACGIH)의 Lifting Threshold Limit Values^()(Lifting TLVs) 워싱턴 주 행정 코드(Washington Administrative Code 296-62-0517, WAC) 및 Snook Table을 이용하여 선박용 디젤엔진 생산 사업장의 들기 작업의 인간공학적 위험성평가 결과를 비교하고 각 평가 방법들의 장 · 단점을 파악하였다. 이와 같이 LI_(NLE)> LI_(Snook)> LI_(TLVs)> LI_(WAC) 순이었고 LI_(NLE)가 가장 엄격한 것으로 나타났다. 2.

A variety of ergonomic assessment methods of lifting tasks known as a major cause of work-related low back pain have been used. But there is a limited information in choosing the most appropriate assessment method for a particular job and in finding out strengths and weakness of the methods. The purpose of this study was to assess and compare the ergonomic risks of lilting tasks in a marine diesel engine manufacturing industry by four lifting ergonomic assessment methods used widely or developed recently: the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health(NIOSH) Revised Lifting Equation(NLE), the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists(ACGIH) Lifting Threshold Limit Values^()(Lifting TLVs), Washington Administrative Code 296-62-0517(WAC), and Snook Table. The results of this study are follows : 1. Lifting Index(Weight of Load/Recommended Weight Limit) of NLE, LI_(NLE), was above 1 at 34 tasks(75.6%) of a total number of 45 lifting tasks. LI of ACGIH Lifting TLVS, LI_(TLV), was above 1 at 22 tasks(48.9%) LI Of WAC, LI_(WAC), was above 1 at 11 tasks(24.4%). LI of Snook Table, LI_(Snook), was above 1 at 29 tasks(64.4%). Thus, LI was high in orders of LI_(NLE) > LI_(Snook) > LI_(TLVs) > LI_(WAC). 2. Parts management showed the highest LI values (LI_(NLE) 2.3, LI_(TLVs) 2.7, LI_(WAC) 1.2, and LI_(Snook) 2.7) in all departments, which resulted from high frequency and load of lifting. 3. There were significantly high correlations among four LIs(p<0.01). The correlation Coefficients between LI_(NLE) and the other three LIs(LI_(WAC), LI_(Snook) and LI_(TLVs)) were r=0.93. r=0.88, and r=0.82. respectively. The linear regression equations were Y = 0.953X - 0.19(r=0.82) between LI_(NLE) and LI_(TLVs), Y = 0.444X + 0.11(r=0.93) between LI_(NLE), and LI_(WAC), Y = 0.93X + 0.008(r=0.88) between LI_(NLE) and LI_(Snook). 4. Lifting TLVs can be used easily in the fields using tables with horizontal and vertical location, frequency, and working hours factors. In addition, it allowed quantitative assessment, and showed significantly high correlations with other assessment tools including NLE. These features and findings support that Lifting TLVs is a lifting analysis tools suitable for industrial field use.
