The interests and impacts on the phenomena online are increasing, due to the development of the Internet. Above all, the importance of the online community, which is similar to the community in reality and has a feature being easily committed is on the rise. Firms are transformed into a relationship for successful e-business in line with the online community utilization , as the digitalization society develops. With this background, although the online community takes up a very important position in corporate activities, the study on the online community is lacking, and most existing studies are concerning the impact of the Internet focused on the medium features. For this reason, a study considering individual participatory motives and social impacts is judgingly needed. Hereby, this study was intended to empirically analyze the impacts of individual participatory motives (Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Playfulness and Fun) in the online community and social impacts (Subjective Norm, Visibility and Image) on the user's attitudinal and behavioral commitment. The purpose of this study is as follow: First, to identify if the dimension of commitment, which is the extent of relationship building with customers through online community is classified according to individual participatory motives and social impacts, and to investigate the relationship between the commitments in the online community. Second, to confirm what elements consist the individual participatory factors on the online community and how they are classified, and to investigate the impacts of the individual participatory factors upon the attitudinal and behavioral commitment in the online community. Third, to confirm what factors consist the social impacts and how they are classified, and to examine what social impacts influence the attitudinal and behavioral commitment in the online community. In the empirical study of this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted targeting individuals who participated in the online community, and the related data was collected through on/offline. Finally, 263 samples were used in the analysis. The results of the major hypotheses test using the covariate structural model analysis are as follows: First, there are differences in the impacts of individual participatory motives in the online community and social impacts factors on the commitment. The individual participatory motives in the online community influences the commitment positively, but the social impacts factor is not significant or influences the commitment negatively. Second, the attitudinal commitment in the online community shows a medium effect on the behavioral commitment in the variables excluding visibility. Third, the relationship between the attitudinal commitment and behavioral commitment is significant.
