This thesis is for proving Jesus' privatelife Appearance and His evangelical mission's Eschatology character through analizing Mark 1:1-15 systematically which is the first gospel of New Testament. Also the purpose of studies in this thesis is for translating Mark's message on the basis of Eschatology system that he was going to give to Mark's community which had been in the crisis. It seems that the emergent situation which community faced with before and after A. D 70 when Mark was written and today's situation of ours have a similar point. So Mark's writer will have to apply to today's people the intention that he would solve the problem of Mark's community by reporting Jesus' gospel movements and sermon astivities in such a situation. Today the studies of Eschatology are related to the time examination about wher God's Kingdom, Eschatology event, comes down But Mark the author of Mark as the first gospel wouldn't write the gospel for showing the time of The expreme to believers who faced to universal eschaton thought at that time. He explains what eschaton faith is, what it works and what function and role it has. Through that he enbraves that the believers must have a perfect belief and be saved by overcoming troubles to the end of the worl. Mark fills the head of his gospel(1:1-15) eschaton structure and story and then this eschaton thought reaches to the climax at chapter 13. Unlike most thesises study eschaton thought with Mark 13, this thesis will handle eschaton thought with the front part of Mark John's appearance introduced as Messayah's prophet in the quotation of Isayah's prediction is Eschatology and Holy spirit's descent from Heaven at the time Jesus' was baptized is a Eschatology event. Moreover Jesus' fighting with satan after He was baptized is a Eschatology one and the appearance of angels is also Eschatology. Through understanding the point that the front part of Mark has a Eschatology structure, this thesis is going to theme below through Historical criticism, compilatio critica. In chap.1 itroduction and chap.2 I am supposed to fing out the life place of Mark's community and the Eschatology character of the front part in Mark, Searching the structure of Mark and the importance of Mark's front part. In chap.3 I will a commentary Baptist John, Messayah's sign, and Jesus' being Messayah and Holy Spirit's descent from Heaven and then Jesus' proclamation about God's Kingdom. In chap.4 I'm going to prove Mark's eschaton thought in Mark's front part and something to do for Mark's community And Mark's front part, Eschatology structure, and chap.13 in Mark will be examined. Finally in chap.5 I will show a conclusion. This Mark's front part is the first christology explanation and the explanation makes us understand the others of Mark. It insists that Jesus is the only place there Holy Spirit stays and Jesus is confirmed by God as the only Son of Heavenly Father. As the reason Mark provides who Jesus is, christology information. Now Mark's readers know that Jesus is Messayah and the achievement of Old Testament's Promise. There is a Eschatology structure in Mark's front part. The appearance of Baptist John is a Eschatology event and Holy Spirit's descent from Heaven happened at the time when Jesus was baptized is another Eschatology one. Being tempted of Jesus by satan is also a Eschatology event. This means Adam failed in Satan's temptation in Eden, but What Jesus, God's Son, fought with satan was the strife for restoring Eden. Jesus' being tempted in desert compares with disciples who would be tortured by cruel Roman soldiers. As the troubles disciples would take were same with the ones Jesus had already taken, His resurrection would give a big hope as His disciples would participate in the glory of His resurrection to them. Like upper facts I introduced, Mark's front part has a Eschatology structure in the appearance of Baptist John, Holy Spirit's descent from Heaven, the battle of Jesus versus satan, and angel's ministry __________________ * A thesis submitted to committee of the Graduate Shool of hoseo University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master Theology in December, 2000.
