High pressure phase behaviors are obtained for the CO2-iso-butyl acrylate system at 40-120℃ and pressure up to 148 bar, CO2-tert-butyl acrylate system at 40-120℃ and pressure up to 140 bar, CO2-iso-butyl methacrylate system at 40-120℃ and pressure up to 159 bar, and CO2-tert-butyl methacrylate system at 40-120℃ and pressure up to 147 bar. The solubility of iso, tert-butyl acrylate and iso, tert-butyl methacrylate for the CO2 increase as the temperature increase at constant pressure, and mixture critical point increase as the temperature increase.
The experimental results for CO2-iso, tert-butyl acrylate and CO2-iso, tert-butyl methacrylate systems are modeled using Peng-Robinson equation of state. A good fit of the data were obtained with Peng-Robinson equation using two adjustable parameter for CO2-iso, tert-butyl acrylate and CO2-iso, tert-butyl methacrylate systems. The CO2-iso, tert-butyl acrylate and CO2-iso, tert-butyl methacrylate systems has not three phases and exhibit type-1 phase behavior with a continuous mixture-critical curve.
Experimental cloud point data to 191℃ and 2,570 bar are measured for binary and ternary mixtures of poly(iso, tert-butyl methacrylate)-CO2-iso, tert-butyl methacrylate and poly(iso, tert-butyl acrylate)-supercritical CO2-iso, tert-butyl acrylate systems. The phase behavior of the poly(iso, tert-butyl methacrylate)-CO2 system presents a negative slope with dissolve at temperature of 190℃ and pressure of 2,570 bar. The cloud-point curve for poly(iso, tert-butyl acrylate)-CO2 mixture exhibits upper-lower critical solution temperature(U-LCST) region phase behavior with a positive slope to negative slope. The phase behavior for poly(iso, tert-butyl methacrylate)-CO2 mixture shows U-LCST type. Poly(iso-butyl acrylate)-CO2-58.7 wt% iso-butyl acrylate exhibits LV curve at 44.4℃, 91.4 bar and LLV curve at 54.5℃, 64.0℃, 104.0 bar, 117.5 bar.
