This research has its objectives to figure out the exhaustion degree of the counselors in child abuse prevention center and search for the solutions to overcome or prevent the exhaustion. In order to attain these objectives, it finds out the exhaustion degree of counselors in child abuse prevention center, learns how anthropological characters, the way of handling stress, work features, work environment, and super vision affect on the exhaustion to the counselors, and searches for the ways to prevent or overcome the exhaustion by providing fundamental data on it. For this research, it uses the survey by mailing to 121 counselors, who, except for the heads of the center, work in 19 local child abuse prevention center in the entire country, bringing 100% of collection rate. Among them, 96 respondents in total are included except for three respondents and other 22 counselors' responses who have worked in less than 6 months. The questionnaires are consist of three contents; first, the basic information on the respondents and the institute, second, questions on exhaustion as a subordinate variable of research, and third, independent variables of the investigation such as method of stress release, features of work related to child abuse prevention center, work environment of the institute, and super vision. In order to explain the descriptive feature of each variable, descriptive statistics is applied, and regression analysis is executed to reveal the effective factors on exhaustion. With 96 cases of completed survey, regression analysis is applied according to each group of independent variable considering the number of the case which needs to each variable, and regression analysis applied to the significant variables collected from independent variables. The following are the research results. First, in the effectiveness of methods for stress release, the method of avoiding the problem and emotional relaxation increases the exhaustion level; it means that passive method for stress release is not desirable which is similar to the previous research results. However, it is hard to interpret the result that the more the problem solving method is used, it decreases more in the sense of accomplishment. In spite of hard work to solve the problem, the sense of accomplishment could be decrease if the client is not as changed as expected with the unfavorable environment. Second, the recognition on client as a work feature of child abuse prevention center and anxiety of personal safety affect the whole exhaustion and emotional exhaustion, even though they don't have any effect on impersonalization and the decrease in the sense of accomplishment. Third, over workload among the variable of work environment affects on whole exhaustion and emotional exhaustion while ambiguous role affects impersonalization and the decrease in the sense of accomplishment. Among variables of work environment, workload shows one of the highest marks in each item and counselors got emotionally exhausted as they recognized their workloads are heavy. The average point related to ambiguous role displays the lowest mark among variables of work environment which tells that most counselors have a clear idea about their roles while they have lower sense of accomplishment and impersonalization as they have higher ambiguity in the role. Concerning the fact that the lack of the promotion opportunity affects the decrease in the sense of accomplishment, it is understood that counselors are hardly promoted in spite of the increase in their work experience because the child abuse prevention centers do not have various positions which could reduce their sense of accomplishment. Fourth, super vision has no effect in the relation with exhaustion.
