In result, the growth of modern society, which broke away from the organic relationship between humans and nature, is now causing destruction of nature and serious harms in the ecosystem such as decrease in organisms, global warming, depletion of the ozone layer, acid rain and environmental hormones. Such environmental problems gave an opportunity to reassess the relationship between humans and nature, and the mid 1980s saw an emergence of green architecture and environment friendly architecture. During the early 1990s in Korea, public interest for environment problems began to grow and discussions on alternative eco-friendly architectures where humans and nature could interact started to be held. Currently, Ecological design, which infuses nature friendly elements, and Green design share similar concepts in seeking nature friendly designs that touch the essence of nature and human. Furthermore, these design concepts place focus on the 'equilibrium' with nature, trying to intermingle with nature rather than endow a new system into it. Such changes emphasize the importance of architecture as well as the relationship between nature and human. Therefore, the current study focuses on the relationship between physical settings, nature, and human, especially children at preschool ages.Today, the demand for childcare centers is steadily increasing due to the after-effects of the female population joining the workforce, however, qualitative improvements are not being achieved. In current childcare centers, direct association between the physical environment and educational method is insufficient, and direct organic unification with nature is not attained, resulting many problems in assessing the relationship between nature and human. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop a harmonious unification between human and nature through close interaction and harmonization in a system called 'Built Environment - Human Natural Environment' and provide children with nature, health, and human friendly space. The study analyzes the use of nature friendly elements in interior spaces such as light, water, plants, soil and rocks that can be frequently seen in recent interior designs, and their psychological effects on users. Furthermore, the study proposes an early childhood educational facility design with 11 concepts for designing childcare centers in order to engraft nature focusing on the common areas with the following three key concepts - circulation, contact and flexibility.Based on the three key concepts, an organic relationship between nature and children could be created by introducing nature friendly elements with attempts to link interior and exterior of the space, distribute, expand, transform space and substances using natural forms and more. The purpose of the design is to create a better environment where nature and children can co-exist, even more nature, human, and health friendliness can be promoted by using nature friendly elements .By incorporating nature friendly elements into the space with unconventional education methods, this study encourages the promotion of children to grow up to be nature friendly, peaceful, cooperative, well rounded, creative and active. In addition, proposes the creation of an active educational space that supports physical, mental, social and intellectual growth of children
