This study investigated a large scale harbor construction which gives an effect to tidal system change in Mokpo region and its aspect of tidal change. And, it used 2D finited difference method and it accomplished numerical model experiment of the southwest coastal waters and near Mokpo harbor. The verification of model with site observation which of important point is compared and investigated. The important results are : 1) Before and after constructed Estuary Dike, in case of considering tidal flat, the phase appears very high, but the amplitude appears low. Where as, in case of not considering tidal flat, the phase appears very low, but the amplitude is low because it analyzes topographical changes and is caused by phenomenons due to narrow waterways. 2) It is know that after constructed the Keum River Estuary Dike, the depth of water is low, but the speed of current decreases at near to Myeongam, from the Kunsan outer port, and around the Changhang port. However, the depth of water is high, but the speed of current increases at around the Kunsan outer port, from the Kunsan inner port to the Keum River Estuary, and from the Changhang port to the Kunsan inner port. 3) After decided six pointed at channel from the Kunsan outer port to the Keum River Estuary Dike, watching change of speed of tidal current using tidal current ellipse. In case of not considering tidal flat, the speed of current is low at near to Myeongam, from the Kunsan outer port to the Kunsan inner port, and around the Kunsan inner port after constructed the Keum River Estuary Dike. The other case of considering tidal flat, the speed of current is low at these places after constructed the Keum River Estuary Dike.
