The forest vegetation of Mt. Cheonseong was investigated using the methodology of the Z-M school of phytosociology, from March, 2005 to October, 2005. The results were obtained as follow ;
Vascular plants of this area consist of 11 forma, 69 varieties, 1 subspecies, 502 species, 335 genera, 107 families and 39 orders. A further 21 species of naturalized plants, 24 species of endemic plants were also observed. Rare and endangered plants included 4 taxa : Jeffersonia dubia L., Gastrodia elata Bl., Paeonia japonica P. obovata, Utricularia yakusimensis Masamure.
The life form spectrum based on the Raunkiaerian system was described as follows; Ph 31.17%, H 24.74%, G 19.07%, Th 14.59%, Ch 4.46%, HH 5.49%, E 0.34%.
The forest vegetation was classified into 11 communities, 4 afforestations.

The dominant vegetation of Mt. Cheonseong area is Quercus mongolica community(29.78%), Pinus densiflora community(12.92%), Quercus acutissima community(12.43%). Molinia japonica community(0.43%) and Chamaecyparis obtusa afforestation(0.08%) and Pinus koraiensis afforestation(0.08%) is distributed a little.
The average of the degree of green naturality of the investigated area was 6.53.
The rate of DGN 7(48.14%) and DGN 8(31.44%) showed the fact that Mt. Cheonseong area is an early stage of secondary forest.
Build-up area(DGN 1), crop field(DGN 2), orahard(DGN 3) are distributed a little(13.9%). It showed the fact that vegetation condition of this area is good.
The standing phytomass(t/㎢) and net productivity(t/㎢/y) showed 436,227.3013t/㎢ and 44,237.40t/㎢/year respectively.
