현재까지 KTF에서 운용중인 장비는 단순히 호(call) 응답, 안테나 VSWR(voltage standing wave ratio, 정재파비), 채널파워를 측정한다.

The previous RF test unit, Samsung-BTU(base station test unit), can not measure major characteristics of RF signal such as receiver sensitivity, pilot power, and Ec/Io. However BTS (base station transceiver system) should continuously monitor the transmission and receive status of forward and reverse RF signal. Based on these data, BTS could maintain the communication quality in conjunction with remote monitoring of BTS RF and surrounding environment. At present, the equipment in KTF detects mechanical problems by simply measuring call response, antenna VSWR(voltage standing wave ratio) channel power. Thus, it is not possible to measure IMD(intermodulation) of each FA(frequency allocation) and sense spurious reception signal, which makes it very difficult to analyze quality loss quantitatively and operate the system as intended. In this paper, some problems which arose from the current BTU operation are addressed and recommendations for newly developed AROMA(automatic remote operating maintenance) are discussed. The direction for improvement of AROMA system are discussed. New AROMA should satisfy the following requirements: wireless communication quality stabilization, fix-time minimization through the glitch prevention and detection of real-time glitches, and spurious signal analysis and tackling capability. Additional monitoring and controlling functions for repeater and beacon are also preferable.
