When the time he was composing, nationalism was popular and prevail in culture and art genre in Europe and it also had an effect on Spain. When we look into the history of music in Spain, Felipe Pedrell (1841-1922) had first tried musical nationalism in his music and Issac Albéniz(1860-1909), Enrique Granados (1867-1916), Manuel de Falla(1876-1946) who were his pupils had developed this musical nationalism. Even though Turina was not Pedrell's pupil, he was influenced by these people and expressed rhythmical music which showed many features of Spain. Later, he became one of the greatest fourth nationalism composer in Spain. The object of this paper 「Poema en forma de canciones op.19」 has been composed in 1918. This song cycle has the text of Ramon de Campoamor's poem and consists of 5 pieces; a piano solo 'Dedicatoria (Dedication)' and 4 vocal songs that are 'Nunca olvida (Never forgive)', 'Cantares (Song)', 'Los dos miedos (two fears)', 'las locas por amor( women in love)'. This cheerful and glamorous song cycle is expressing melisma style, the plagal modes of medieval times and the features of Spanish folk music, guitar figuration, the unique rhythm of Spain. And also it is said that this music used Frank's circular technique and a dissonance and non-harmonic sounds the features of impressionism. As a conclusion, this song cycle is well blended music which features the Spanish and European music and this is the unique part of Turina.
