This thesis brings a focus on 'an aesthetic view on the physical culture of ancient Greece'. In other words, the conception of Greek's 'kalokagathia' would be contemplated through at that times of physical activities from statues of ancient Greece. Also, to observe traits from conceptual of 'choreia' and 'mimesis' on ancient Greek's dance. 'The beautiful human body' is the centre of beauty to human beings who knows what beauty is. Therefore, under act upon this conviction on the human body, I would inquire into the aesthetic point of view on how the human body of the ancient Greeks shows beauty through physical culture. First of all, I reviewed preceding studies on the aesthetics of physical education, which is one of the departments in physical education, with criticizing about aesthetics to approach physical education. Thus, I reviewed 'peculiarity and methodology on aesthetics of physical education' through possibility on aesthetics of physical education to find out 'the possibility on aesthetics of physical education'. Furthermore, I also found that 'aesthetics' and 'aesthetics of physical education' are affirmed to the foundation through 'scientific objects and bounds of aesthetics'. Moreover, after criticizing the possibility of aesthetics of physical education, I focused on 'physical culture' of ancient Greece from the aesthetics point of view. The ideal human body, which was the principle for the finest human at ancient Greece, looked into their ambitious work of art which was covering physical activities. Then, I clarified that the early Olympic games were correlated to Greek's work of art. Therefore, I examined various features of physical activities from Greek's work of art. Throughout the research, I inquired into principles of body expressions from Greek's work of art through 'aesthetic expression of ideal body', then from those Greek's work of art, which were related to ancient pentathlon, I clarified 'aesthetic expression of body on physical activities', then I attempted to approach, aesthetically, physical exercise. As a result, from Greek's work of art, I verified again with 'kalokagathia' which is the ideal humanity for ancient Greeks. And, dance could also be seen as an aesthetic image and a point of view from the human body. I confirmed that ancient dance, which had very much dynamic human body culture, is 'choreia' from 'genesis of dance and characteristics of ancient greek dance'. Moreover, I found out that the ideology of art of dance retain 'mimesis', so I looked into 'dance as a physical performance art' more carefully. Through research on both the artistic and physical education point of view for dance on 'identity of dance in art of human body', I found out the 'topos' which is the possibilities for dance to be as modern viewpoints on the aesthetics of dance through the aesthetics of exercise. Aesthetics is not monopolized for an aesthetician. Hence all philosopher·aesthetician·art-scientist·artists tried to understand art better to obtain aesthetics and science of art as basis of art. Therefore many scholars from physical education and sport must do the same thing as what the people above did to get the academic foundation. Thus, in this kind of situation, I believe that the human body and mind are part of culture and they produce aesthetic value which will be appraised as an academic. Most importantly, if done the right way, the phase of human science of physical education will provide firm belief.
