This study tries to develop TFT LCD color filter manufacturing technology using screen printing method as a method to replace the pigment dispersion method. The purpose of this study is to establish the manufacturing technology regarding the LCD purpose color filter by way of a screen printing type. Hence, the author reviewed the characteristics of pigment dispersion of millbase which consisted of the color filter, polymerization of oligomer in base resin, characteristics of screen printing in color filter's color resist which combined these two, and characteristics of rheology in color resist. In particular, with respect to the characteristics of pigment dispersion in the course of millbase, the author studied and reviewed the optimal condition in dispersion such as characteristics of dispersion and dispersion time, etc. pursuant to the dispersant and monomer. To manufacture the color resist, the author compounded the ester type, epoxy type, urethane type, and UV type acrylate resin in respect of the polymerization in base resin. And the author studied and reviewed the printability in screen printing pursuant to the viscosity of color resist and analyzed the rheology and pattern according to the result of optimal pattern. In addition, the author examined the characteristics of color in terms of color filter.
