We have half a 10,000 years of eternal history. The cultural inheritances made during that long history were damaged by strifes and wars, and some cultural assets carried out abroad are still being exhibited in other countries. Moreover, it is impossible to maintain present shapes eternally because of degradation. However, the interests in our culture, and appearance of many galleries and museums caused the needs of producing photographic copies for research, exhibition, and preservation. Digital camera produced since 1990 has been developed rapidly despite of short period. 20 years of digital photography has changed rapidly all of photographic environment compare with the developing speed of analog photography during 160 years. Not only digital camera but also development of softwares and the change of printing system have changed all of photographic works. Digital photography is possible to reproduce and to preserve permanently. I intended to produce high quality of photographic copies by using technology of digital photography. Therefore, this research compared the resolution of analog and digital photography, and carried out experiment and question for reproducing the primary colours. Besides, this research tried to find the efficient way to produce high quality of photographic copies through comparing digital back and DSLR. According to the result of the research, the resolution of digital photography is superior to analog photography. Also, it was possible to produce high quality of photographic copies through split photographing and compound. For reproducing colours, it was possible to produce almost same colour as the original's through digital photography's CMS. Cultural assets are in the centre of enjoying and inheriting our traditional culture. However, once cultural asset is damaged, it can not be brought back. For this, producing high quality of photographic copies are certainly necessary, and through this, cultural assets can be studied, preserved, and enjoyed. Many museums including National Museum of Korea use photographic copies for exhibition to preserve cultural assets, and apply duplicated cultural asset to cultural goods.
