This study endeavors to answer the question of how preachers can effectively deliver their sermons to their audiences. Since the people in these days are exposed to the deluge of information provided by T.V. and internet, they are accustomed to the electronic and visual way of communication. Thus, it is more and more difficult to deliver sermons effectively with the traditional method that has been maintained for more than two thousand years. With recognition of such problem, this study seeks to present the possibility of inductive preaching for the effective delivery, while laying the emphasis on investigation into and evaluations of inductive preaching and giving further suggestions to it. It is important to be equiped well with basics of sermon in order to give the effective delivery of sermons. One of the important bases is to have the clear view of sermons: 'What is a sermon?' This study makes the definition of sermon after examining the contemporary sermon scholarly discussions. Also, we need to know the importance of sermon form and its proper definition. The sermon form is the real and important essence in meaning and effect of preaching. It is not just a shell or packing, but it is the crucial item that should be considered necessary as the way of the effective delivery of sermon. Therefore, preachers must study and use the proper sermon form that can contain best message and achieve objectives of the sermon. Fred B. Craddock's view has formed an influential argument in homiletics. Craddock's book challenged old sermon forms with the fresh effect: this movement is called new homiletics. The inductive preaching concentrates on "how", whereas the traditional sermon focused on "what". The inductive preaching is related to the sermon form that delivers some general principle derived from observation, question, example, and experiences in specific situations. People behave a posteriori when they think, find, and study. Therefore, the sermon form should be a posteriori, and then audiences can listen to sermons with more interest. Nonetheless, the problem is that preachers prepare sermons by way of inductive method, but they deliver them deductively. The characters of delivery methods of inductive preaching are as follows: First, it starts from the life-setting of audiences. As approaching its conclusion, indictive preaching requires the audiences' involvement and participation. Second, the inductive preaching can be described as homiletical journey. In this journey, preacher and audiences travel together to seek the World. A posteriori sermon can be explained as demonstrative rather than recommendary and affirmative rather than authoritative. Third, the inductive development in sermon is related to the whole form and perfect unity, and the movement of sermon are important elements. Inductive preaching develops in arrangements of several elements, and its success and failure depends on unity in composition of sermon. It is important that the sermon should be composed with a single concept that controls whole story. The single concept can be more clear, powerful, and effective element than its message. Also, in development of sermon the unity of sermon contents is a crucial part. Therefore, the unity of sermon enable audience to focus on a single goal, and as a result, it helps make a concentration on the message that sermon tries to convey. The evaluation of Fred B. Craddock's inductive preaching can be explained with two things: its weakness and its contributions to homiletics. The first contribution is that his approach offers new idea about the sermon language, while recovering both verbal, poetic element and rhetorical element richly. Second, it presents a new insight into sermon forms focusing on the inductive development in preaching. Third, it recovers story-telling element of sermon. Fourth, it touches on the sensitivity of audiences by avoiding to appeal mainly to audiences' intelligence so as to make them experience the Good News. Fifth, it emphasizes the audiences' participation and their roles as a result of reanalyzing the location of audiences. However, the first weakness of the inductive preaching is that it does not present specific methodology. Secondly, it does not have interest in Biblical authority which formed traditional preachers' basis, The third weakness is that this kind of method overemphasizes the experience of audiences and individual's existence, and thus the hermaneutical axis leans to the listeners more than the texts and authors. Fourthly, it can produce the preaching full of guesswork based on unlimited imaginations. Lastly, it gave birth to liberal theology which does not respect biblical authority and absoluteness, by having left conclusion and application of sermon with audience completely. Audience can be easily confused with such sermon because the inductive preaching does not contain clear conclusion. In this study, we make three suggestions for the effective delivery of sermon: 1) inductive approach to and analysis of the text 2) specific and practical alternative to the inductive preaching method based on the method of Ralph Lewis: enumeration, exploration, development of biblical characters' biography, narrative structure, problem presentation and solution, development of question and answer's form and mixture of inductive and deductive method, and finally 3) the author's own further suggestions. Preacher must face two tasks as communicator who speaks to audience and as interpreter. As interpreter, the preacher should interpret the Word of God correctly and inerrably. As preacher, he needs to impress audience. These two missions can be successful when both the improved inductive preaching and the right theological and hermeneutical basis are put together in sermon. Therefore, when the preacher understands the principle of the inductive preaching well, and prepares sermons with strategic mind about sermon form, the more effective deliver
