A children's park is for physical activities and cultivating emotion of children, and not only neighborhood's children but also lot of people in community are using. Although area of park is restricted, children's park play a role of intermediating place for acquaintance and community garden of open space. Up to recently children's park has been perceived as an inevitable facility in town planning and made only by suppliers and planners in a top-down way, mainly supplied by developing large-scale residential sites. Usually user trends and opinions were excluded, futhermore standards of the design and management system was not sufficient at those process. As time passes, problems about safety concerns due to faculties' deterioration and user trends caused by wrong understandings are happening. This study recognized that existing children's parks needed new alternative in the way of developing and applied user-participation design method as a substitute measure to those to redevelop and focused on finding solutions. I have studied with "Eco-friendly playground remodeling" which is based on Munsan Children's park in Munhueng Dong, Gwangju by the korea land corporation. So I chose the students of 6grade 7th class in Munsan primary school near Munsan Children's park, then started the study. First, surveyed the present status, user trends and understandings of neighboring residents to gather basic data for deriving redevelopment plan. According to the survey, elementary school students from 8 to 12had the highest frequency of visiting and using then preschool children and adults. I found it from user-participation program that participants understood the potentials and problems of children's park well and their interest was drew through playground design. Also children could get confidence that they designed park by themselves and made modelling at the last presentation. The Conclusions of this study are summarized as follows; 1. As a result of children's participation, participants understood the definition of play, the function of children's park and values and importance of resources in the site. 2. Children preferred faculties which can play complexly and actively to faculties which only can provide limited activities. So we can know that need to reflect and analyze the preference of these children when we produce and set faculties. 3. There were complex interests between nearby inhabitants' and were caused by distorted understanding. With this, we could find that need the process of reaching an agreement or participation program for residents.
