The technologies owned by the pharmaceutical companies are the results of the long R&D processes controlled by the government as well as the results of several clinical trials. Pharmaceutical technologies require long R&D efforts and huge investments. In addition, whether they will be successfully tested at various clinical levels is highly uncertain. Therefore, in order to valuate the pharmaceutical technologies, more sophisticated valuation approaches than the ordinary ones must be required.Basically, when a technology is valuated, analyst's subjective judgement and numerous assumed premises are engaged, which are the major causes for lower objectivity and reliability of the valuation results. Hence, in order to guarantee more objective and reliable results, it is desirable to minimize analyst's subjectivity and assumed premises and thereby, lower the level of their uncertainty. This study selected, as core factors valuating the pharmaceutical technologies, the target conditions for which the pharmaceutical technologies would apply and their R&D stages, and therewith, conducted the Quantitative 'Analytical Hierarchy Process' (Q-AHP) based on some reliable data. For the Q-AHP, the researcher classified 595,277 clinical data into 23 condition groups, while setting 5 R&D stages, and thereby, performed the pairwise comparison repeatedly to obtain the relative weighted value rate by the conditions and the R&D stages. It is believed that the relative weighted value rates suggested by this study will be used effectively at the adjustment stage when the target pharmaceutical technologies are valuated, and that due to such value adjustment, objectivity and reliability of valuation will be enhanced. In conclusion, it is judged that the relative weight value rates suggested by this study will be useful as decision making indices for valuation of the technologies owned by pharmaceutical companies.
