An experimental parameter (pH) and MC simulation has successfully been linked to investigate Structure and morphology of CuO and SiO₂ aggregates with a relation between sticking probability and stability ratio. To study influence of pH, we analyzed EIL structure with measured zeta potentials and obtained EIL structure on CuO and SiO₂ nanoparticle surfaces, related to surface charge densities and electric potentials. From SC model and 2-pK model, an equation to calculate surface charge densities(δ_(0)) was derived as a function of Γ_(tot), K_(p) and pH_(pzc) or K_(d) , and non-measured zeta potentials were theoretically estimated. Introducing DLVO theory, particle-particle interaction energy was calculated and finally we predicted stability ratios of CuO-water colloid system and SiO₂-water colloid system for different primary particle sizes. A classical 3D off lattice Monte Carlo algorithm was adapted to derive a relation between fractal dimension (d_(f)) and colloidal stability ratio, structural analysis of CuO and SiO₂ aggregates were performed. According to the shift of pH from pHpzc, fractal dimensions for CuO and SiO₂ aggregates were estimated and based on fractal dimensions, we clarified pH ranges that distinguish three aggregation regimes, DLCA, intermediate, and RLCA, for CuO and SiO₂ nanoclusters. Also, a universal characteristic for aggregate structure changes was found, and it suggested pH ranges inducing rapid variation of aggregate structure. Finally, we confirmed morphological changes of CuO and SiO₂ aggregates for one primary particle size, a diameter of 25nm. The snapshots showed that structure of aggregates becomes more compact and closed when pH goes far from pHpzc. With analysis of stability ratio and structural, morphological analysis of CuO and SiO₂ clusters, we successfully suggested guidelines for manufacturing nanoclusters or nanostructure, and fundamental insights for aggregation phenomena. Moreover, it was confirmed that aggregation can be controlled in a favorable way by pH modifications.
