인천광역시 가좌완충녹지 기능향상을 위한 식재기법 연구 : 공업지역과 주거지역 사이 완충녹지를 사례로 A Study on Planting Method for Functional Improvement of Gajwa Buffer Green Space in Incheon, Korea: A Case Buffer Green Space between Industrial Area and Residential Area원문보기

Summary This Study has observed the status of tree selection and planting habits in Gajwa buffer green space, and analyzed the planting density, distribution of tree species and the usage behavior of nearby residents, in a way to come up with measures to improve the function of the buffer green space created as a part of urban planning facilities. The Study also has suggested ways to induce various wild birds to Gajwa buffer green space by creating an ecologically stable forest, based on its study on the distribution of inhabiting wild birds in the nearby core green space. The planting density of the canopy layer which has a buffer function was only 9 trees/100㎡ on average. Also, most of the planted tree species in the layer were shade trees and landscape trees which are unsuitable to be used as a buffer. In the broad way(30m) warning area, which is the source of pollutants, it is suggested that dense evergreen species be planted in the understory layer at intervals of 1.3m. In the canopy layer, it seems desirable to plant those tree species with a strong sound insulation effect from their low stem heights and dense branches and leaves at intervals of 2~3m. In order to enhance the buffer function of Gajwa buffer green space, planting density should increase to at least 10 trees/100㎡, which requires complementary planting. Considering the fact that the desirable noise level in everyday life is less than 60dB, the current noise level of Gajwa buffer green space tends to be seriously high. The estimated maximum noise level in the buffer green space was 75.6dB and its minimum value was 68.0dB. In order to promote the convenience of the residents in using Gajwa buffer green space in a safe, comfortable, and noise-free environment and to enhance their satisfaction over their living condition of immediate residential area, the mounding height should increase 2~3m from the current level(2~5m). Also, complementary tree species which can block the noise should be planted in the buffer green space, and its understory layer and shrub layer should be also reinforced. The landscape function has been analyzed to calculate the ratios of flower coverage and autumn colors coverage. The average flower coverage ratio of flower trees in Gajwa buffer green space was 22.8%, while the average autumn color ratio of autumn color species was 41.5%. The result of landscape analysis based on the distribution of planting tree species shows that flower trees, shade trees, autumn color trees, fruit trees, and evergreen trees accounted for 7%, 56%, 53%, 25%, and 43%, respectively. Therefore, in order to improve the current imbalance of tree planting, more of evergreen species suitable for providing a buffer function and shade tree species with a noise absorption function should be planted in the area close to the industrial area. For the area nearby the residential area, tree species with high ratios of flower coverage and autumn colors coverage should be planted or relocated, considering the usage and landscape aspects. These trees will offer not only the beautiful scenery but also emotional comfort to the residents. The study found, in its usage analysis, that people use Gajwa buffer green space mostly for doing exercise and taking a walk. They seem to use the space in the evening (around 6:30pm) most often, and those aged between 30 and 60 and those over 60 years old have turned out to be the most frequent-goers. In order for Gajwa buffer green space to provide a function as a park for the nearby residents, the Study suggests that proper facilities customized for the users should be newly introduced and current facilities be complemented. The possibilities of wildbird inflow into Gajwa buffer green space have been also examined in the study. The result shows that only 8 bird species including Pica pica, Parus major, Passer montanus, Hypsipetes amaurotis, and Columba livia var. domestica, also commonly seen in the urban area, have been found in the buffer green space, possibly because of lack of food plants and ecologically unstable habitat environment. On the contrary, a much more variety of species have been found in the nearby core green space, which include 9 species of resident birds such as Paradoxornis webbiana, 3 species of summer visitor birds such as Oriolus chinensis, Cyanoptila cyanomelana, and Accipiter soloensis, and 2 species of passage migrant birds -- Phylloscopus borealis and Enithacus sibilant. In an effort to invite the same wild bird species as those inhabiting the nearby core green space birds into Gajwa buffer green space, 5 species -- Phasianus colchicus, Streptopelia orientalis, Paradoxornis webbiana, Parus palustris, and Phylloscopus borealis can be selected as target species. Those species which tend to inhabit the forest have been excluded from the selection. In order to attract these target species, the herb layer, the shrub layer, the understory layer, and the canopy layer should be created in the buffer green space to provide various food plants and rich habitat environment for the wild birds. Moreover, the forest in Gajwa buffer green space should have a natural layer structure like the nearby core green space, which is ecologically stable. The study has also emphasized that various insects should be invited to the space by offering attractive habitats for them such as puddles, which will lead to induce more wild birds. Key Words : Planting Density, Ratio of Flower Coverage, Ratio of Autumn, Colors Coverage, Usage Behavior, Multi-layered structure
