In this study, a family daycare teacher training program has been developed to enrich standard childcare curriculum by considering the circumstances of infant and toddler educare in the family daycare center, and the applicability of the program has been checked out. Part I, consists of survey analysis on how do the family daycare centers offer the standard childcare curriculum and what do the caregivers ask for applying the curriculum effectively. The questionnaire has been distributed to 500 family daycare teachers in 6 districts of the City of Seoul, and 350 questionnaires are returned and analysed. In Part II, caregiver training program that reflects the survey analysis is to be developed. Extensive literature survey and the questionnaire analysis are followed by the draft of infant/toddler teacher training program for effectively offering the standard childcare curriculum, and final program has come out through experts' careful adjustments. Part III, examines the applicability of the teacher training program devised for the family daycare centers. In the training program, conducted by Nowon District family daycare information center, there are 45 participants who are infant and toddler caregivers from the various family daycare centers at Nowon District, and the program consists of 10 rounds of a 140-minutes-long training course that are to be offered once in a week, so that it becomes 10 weeks program. The program applicability has been checked out by comparing 38 participants who have finished the program with 38 non-participants. Child-care efficacy and caregiver's interaction were measured against the two groups before(pre-test) and after(post-test) the 10-week program, and ANCOVA analysis has been performed to statistically justify those differences the two groups made. The levels of program satisfaction have also been evaluated by the participants. The results of this study are summarized as; Firstly, questionnaire survey showed that average age of the caregivers were 38.45 years old, while educational background and job career are little bit insufficient. Those who have acquired their license from caregiver institutes rather than from colleges or universities form a large majority. Average area and operating hours of the family daycare centers were 27.68 pyeong and 12 hours, respectively. Majority of them turned out to be non-certified facilities. Daily daycare plans were least prepared among the four (daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly) daycare plans. Related magazines and internet sites were the major sources for preparing the plans while activity information of the national curriculum was not being utilized frequently. The family daycare centers did not provide sufficient teaching information for family daycare, and more emphasis was put on basic livelihood. One of the difficulties met during the family daycare was insufficient references suitable for family daycare activities, and even though there is a reference, it was very hard to put to practical use. Others included lack of teacher professionalism for mixed-age class in small facilities. As far as caregivers' need analysis, recognition level of national curriculum was relatively low, however, practical use of standard childcare curriculum activity information was thought to apply the curriculum in their class. Activity programs development tailored for family daycare characteristics and workshop on the developed programs were also requested. In other words, it was strongly hoped that there should be caregiver training programs which enable them to understand standard childcare curriculum and improve their own qualification, capability, as well as professionalism as a infant and toddler caregiver. Secondly, the purpose of the caregiver training program derived from the literature survey and questionnaire analysis is to let the infant and toddler caregivers to recognize standard childcare curriculum, to understand its details, to be fully equipped with teaching methods and skills, and finally to improve their own capability and professionalism. Action plans for this purpose includes understanding the basic viewpoint and whole contents of the standard childcare curriculum, acquiring the detailed knowledge about the curriculum, learning the teaching methods to apply the curriculum, and putting to practical use of the curriculum customized to family daycare circumstances. The teacher training program consists of theoretical part and practical part. Former covers whole information of standard childcare curriculum, customized daycare contents differentiated by ages and levels, daycare plans and composition, circumstance organization, caregiver's role and interaction, and cooperation with parents and local community. Latter part contains reorganization of the activities information on the standard childcare curriculum adjusted for small sized family daycare centers, and active coordination and information sharing with caregivers. It also considers experiences and backgrounds of the participants, so that lectures who have family daycare career preside the program and motivate them to actively participate in the class. Thirdly, in order to verify the applicability of the training program, workshop was held in the daycare information center capable of networking each other easily as well as giving assistance to adopt and modify standard childcare curriculum. The workshop comprised of audio-visual lectures, discussions, case study presentations, and material demonstrations. Results of the applicability analysis showed that child-care efficacy and caregiver's positive interaction of the participants increased significantly compared to non-participants while caregiver's negative interaction did not. Degree of program satisfaction is evaluated as excellent (mean=4.29, SD.=.39). This study concludes with the need to develop diverse caregiver training programs in every aspects for expediting the dissemination
