A Study on the design of the modern fusion up-style Sung-Jin Han Department of Beauty Arts, Graduate School, Seokyeong University Modern up-style is experiencing a rise in design that combine the hetrogeneous things, or goes beyond the roles, boundaries, and meanings of existing things. The 21st century is an era of diversity. Increasingly, unique personalities and social structures has become more diversified and modern people's mindsets value senses more. These phenomenon reflected social sentiment well. Fusion reflects the traits of the contemporary era and is manifested in union and compromise with the era's atmosphere. Nowadays, fusion in fashion and hair style was spotlighted as a motive of our contemporary fashion and hair trends, and there are controversies about possible interpretations about post-modernity vs. modernity. Post-modernism that emerged in the 1960's and had society-wide impacts appeared in the fashion world from the 1980's influencing the Retro phenomenon. Fusion is the coordination of a different items and the ideas of opposite elements from other themes and art. The fusion at the end of 20th of fashion and hair style is concerned with a repulsion of Eclecticism and Post-modernism. The fusion come into the spotlight and can be defined in many variables, such as area, nation, genre, age, space and other idea. The purpose of this study is to analyze how multiculturalism condition and fusion phenomenon do affect the hair design and up-style. In this study, the approaching methods of the fusion are as follows: each elements of the above would be the source of the oriental and the western of fusion, like the past and the present of fusion, the main current and non main streamers of fusion, the present and the future of fusion. This study deals with our contemporary fusion up-style in the following methods: This study specifically aims to look into how shape features and texture are changing as hair line changes and with documents and books, to look into how Japan's basic up style is changing by face shape and hair richness based analyses on various data and photos. And this study investigated the change of up-style according to culture and fashion. As a result, this study can come to the following conclusions: First, as a result of model changes by texture conditions, it was found that upward Second, the result from design changes by themes suggests that event nature and individual condition is to be well understood to decide design in today's fashion, looking young and simple. Given the result from practices, the study intended to integrate speedy, modern up-style with reproduced theme up-styles. Practices and reproduction by hair style changes are expected to be used for basic data for development of us techniques and designs and are believed to need more following studies. The modern fusion up-style is united by past, modern and future's style and created the reactionary and new future oriented beauty through the difference of space-time in which the past design was reconfigurated by the modern style. In other words, it means that new meaning is made by using the old style but renewing the old meaning and old symbol. Fusion up-style was pursued by mixing, transforming, uniting with various space-time image based on the various forms and texture. In this study, the fusion up-style in which adaptation of the elements of fusion such as the Orient and the Occident, the male and the female, the union of every genres, the union of the central culture and the circumferential culture was suggested. It means to escape the geometric form which the existing up-style geometric has. In other words, the fusion up-style was made because of the social demand of modern society which is already complex and standardized. It is not the fusion for the mere new thing but the style which reflect the contemporary characteristics very well.
