The interruption among readers in the various applications using RFID(Radio-Frequency IDentification) technologies is caused by the misplacement of the RFID readers. Such interruption occurs when a reader sends a signal which may interrupt the movement of the other readers followed by the interruption of tag recognition. The collision among readers in the RFID system have a major influence on the system throughput and the recognition efficiency. Because the unit price of the RFID reader is costly, it also has economic limitation to utilize multiple readers and antennas. After all, some researches on recognizing multiple tags with a few readers have been done. This situation resulted in the shortage of relevant researches when a large number of reader antennas need to be used to cover broader areas. In this dissertation, we propose a new RFID reader arrangement design system using evolutionary computation algorithms in order to achieve the maximum cover ratio and minimum interruption ratio with the least readers by enhancing the suitability of the RFID antenna arrangement. First of all, this dissertation analyzed the characteristics of antenna wave sensitive to the environment and established the characteristics database. The RFID antenna model was used after obtaining the result of the actual test instead of the simple disk shape. The antennas with different sizes of recognition range with different power level were also used. Moreover, this dissertation also newly proposes an encoding technique, a fitness technique, and genetic operators using evolutionary computation algorithms in order to place the antenna in the ideal condition to solve the problem of ideal RFID antenna placement to cover the entire optional domain. To prove the superiority of the proposed techniques, we implemented the RFID reader antenna network design system based on them and established the space for reader antenna network installation using computer aided design(CAD) files. In addition, we ensured the proposed techniques derive the ideal design by defining the network installation space by means of the optional drawing. We also verified the proposed algorithm based on the databases obtained after the test by means of the implemented system. It was shown through various simulations that the proposed RFID reader arragement system achieved RFID antenna arrangement suitability with 99.32% of cover ratio and 1.39% of interruption ratio through the evolutionary computation of about 100 generations.
