In this study, anatophysiological change of the eye after drinking was measured and analyzed. A total of 24 subjects (48 eyes) physically and mentally healthy young men in college between 23 and 26 years of age (average age: 24.5±1.5) were examined. Their ocular axial lenth, cornea thickness, ocula pressure, pupil size, eccentricity of cornea topographical map, radius of curvature cornea, and objectiv and subjective rafraction test of the eye were measured before drinking and one, four, and 24 hours after drinking. Based on alcohol concentration, the subects were separated into 0.42g/kg group and 0.7g/kg group, and the anatophysiological change was measured for eight people (16 eyes) in the first group and 16 people (32 eyes) in the second group. Refractive difference between the two groups was minor below 0.25D. Based on the result of objective and subjective refraction test, it could be noticed that the myopic process is under progressing due to alcohol drinking and the maximum spherical equivalent was detected from all those alcohol drunken groups of 0.42g/kg and 0.7g/kg respectively after 1 hour. The radius of curvature, measured using a manual keratometer, decreased both horizontally (7.94±0.05mm) and vertically (7.71±0.05mm) in the 0.42g/kg group, but there was an increase in the 0.7g/kg group. Pupil size and ocular pressure showed the greatest decrease after one hour drinking. but they gradually recovered with time with statistically significant changes. As for cornea thickness, cornea thickness did not change in the 0.42g/kg group after one hour, whereas there was a statistically significant increase in the 0.7g/kg group. However, the results were not equal for both groups. Ocular axial length increased after one hour in both groups, and it was statistically significant in the 0.7g/kg group. Thus, it is considered that acute the increase of ocular axial length after drinking influences temporary the myopic process. Based on the above findings, it was concluded that the influence of anatophysiological change of the eye after drinking varies by pupil size, ocular pressure, ocular axial length, and cornea thickness. Therefore, the ocular functional change binocular vision and accomodation of the eye after drinking shall consider other anatophysiological reactions of the body.
