The purpose of this study is to evaluate cardiac functions and to diagnose the risk of cardiac disease during maximal aerobic and resistance exercise. During treadmill maximal exercise and Squat, ST segmental change and ST/HR slop as a cardiovascular functions, and Duke Treadmill Score (DTS), annual Cardiovascular Mortality (CVM), and heart rate-recovery loop index (HR-RLI) as a cardiac disease risk were continuously measured. The subjects of this study were 9 adults men who had no abnormal symptoms on the electrocardiogram or any medical history related to cardiovascular disease. Data from treadmill exercise and Squat were analyzed with student t-test (α =.05). The results of this study are as follows. First, ST/HR slopes in Lead V2 and Lead Ⅱ were significantly differed between treadmill and Squat exercise(p <.05), but did not show significant differences in Lead V5. Second, the Duke Treadmill Score was significantly higher (p <.05) Squat exercise than Treadmill excercise. Annual Cardiovascular Mortality was significantly lower (p <.01) Squat exercise than Treadmill exercise. Third, the Heart Rate - Recovery Loop in Lead Ⅱ was normal orbit, however in Lead V2 and Lead V5 were abnormal orbit Treadmill Exercise. During the Squat Exercise, Lead Ⅱ, Lead V2, and V5 all showed normal orbit. Fourth, Heart Rate-Recovery Loop Index was evaluated as positive because it was normal in both the Squat exercise and Treadmill exercise. The Treadmill Exercise is a more effective way to diagnosis the potential risk of cardiovascular disease than the Squat Exercise. However, considering the population that participated in the resistance exercise, it is necessary to develop different methods to diagnosis the potential risks of cardiovascular disease effectively and the need to further study through improving the research.
