(Abstract) If asked what is the necessary condition to raise the quality of living, most people will answer it may be a sound environment, smooth traffic, and security. However, These days, our security has been threatened by the deterioration of the fire-fighting equipment and the shortage of water for fire-fighting. So it is natural that there should be a growing importance about the ensuring of the fire-fighting equipment. Present condition of korea's fire-fighting equipment is in danger. The reason is that there is corrosion of the fire-fighting equipment. For this reason, A serious problem is always arisen in the process of putting out a fire. The pipe corrosion is the main reason of decreasing the flow of water, the crack with pipe corrosion, and the incapacity of various pumps and valves fire-fighting equipment. Therefore, in this thesis, I scrutinized the corrosion of fire-fighting equipment. For there hasn't any fire service Act about the durability against corrosion in our country. After careful examination, I draw these conclusions. 1. There is great danger in the early procession of fire-fighting due to the corrosion in the pipe, the water sprinkler, and the head etc. 2. There is more serious corrosion in the pump-casing, the elbow, and the coupling device. 3. After investigation using hydromechanics, there is inverse proportion (about R5) between corrosion and the diameter of the pipe. 4. After study about viscosity coefficient, I found that there is much more viscosity coefficient in case of rust stain. Besides, The more rusted it is, the more is viscosity coefficient. So this affects flow velocity. 5. The change of viscosity is inverse proportion to the change of temperature. 6. While there are legislations about corrosion in other countries (NEPA13&15), there isn't any legislation in our country. To make matters worse, We are exposed danger. Therefore, We must take into consideration about passing this legislation. To be able to do this work, we must more study corrosion of fire-fight equipment.
