Temperature History of the Concrete Corresponding to Various Curing Sheets to slab suggest effective and economic insulation curing method subjected to cold weather concrete, the best combination of the insulation curing method, and applies to the construction field. The results are summarized as following. The temperature history and the strength development of concrete corresponded to various bubble sheets layer and curing temperature. Based on the results, In case of -5℃, concrete exposed to -5℃ had a drastic drop of temperature and at 16 hours, reached below 0℃ and at 24 hours, reached -1.4℃. But, in case of PE+non woven fabric combination and single layer bubble sheet, the time to reach 0℃ is around 36 hours since placement due to heat insulation effect of heat curing materials. Furthermore, in case of double, triple, quad layer bubble sheet, the time to temperature to reach 0℃ is around 60 hours. This is two times later than PE+woven blanket or single layer bubble sheet condition. And this is due to improved heat insulation effect of layer accumulation of bubble sheet. However, In case of -15℃, regardless of heat insulation combination, all concretes reached 0℃ even before 24 hours. So, additional curing is necessary under -15℃. For maturity and mean temperature calculation of the concrete in response to heat insulation combination, the use of double layer bubble sheet brings higher maturity and mean temperature. It means that higher maturity due to the application of accumulated bubble sheet enhances the compressive strength. The compressive strength of the concrete in response to curing sheet combination. As you can see in this figure, in the use of bubble sheet leads to enhance compressive strength. As the number of layer accumulation increased, the compressive strength also increased. In case of -15℃, the use of bubble sheet did not affect the compressive strength significantly. In -5℃ of curing temperature, we can confirm the heat insulation effect of layered bubble sheet and its contribution to strength development of concrete at early age and also double layer bubble sheet is most favorable performance in heat insulation. But, in case of extremely low temperature -15℃, we can not expect desirable heat insulation effect of bubble sheet. When double bubble sheets are applied, it was shown that slab concrete was protected from early freezing by remaining between 5 and 10℃ even in case outside temperature drops -11℃ below zero until the 4nd day from piling. The insulation heat preservation curing method using the double bubble sheet applied in this field prevented early freezing owing to stable curing temperature management, deterring concrete strength development delay at low temperature, and obtained the needed strength. Also, it was proven that the method is highly effective and economic for cold weather concrete quality maintenance through curing cost reduction like construction period shortening and labor cost reduction, etc by reducing the process of temporary equipment installation and disassembling.
