Against this backdrop, this thesis looks into the current the photographic record record management situations at university archives and searches for efficient and systematic management methods as well as a system to put the photographic record records into the public use.
This thesis took a close look at the case of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Archive(HUFS Archive) for the following reason. Due to its poor management, HUFS Archive had a risk of losing its the photographic record records that are closely related to its history. After establishing an archive, however, HUFS Archive implemented a systematic management method which not only solved the issue in the past but also led to the successful management of the photographic record records that HUFS Archive has collected since.
