The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of forest interpreters' job motivation on job satisfaction. The survey was conducted on 531 participants engaged in National Forest Resort, arboretums as a forest interpreter. This study was surveyed and measurement was based on the scale developed by Silberberg et al. (2001) which was translated and modified by Shin Won Sub(2006). The survey was consisted of 18 motivation items, and 16 satisfaction items. The results of the study were as following: 1. The motivation was divided into 4 factors which are relationships, self development, recreation and forest love according to factor analysis of forest interpreters' motivation. 2. The satisfaction was divided into 2 factors which are personal and public value according to factor analysis of forest interpreters' satisfaction. 3. Forest interpreters' motivation differed depending on gender, age, activity career, whether the institution's certification. In detail, job motivation depending on gender had significant difference in factor 4, forest love. Job motivation depending on whether the institution's certification had significant difference in factor 3, recreation. And job motivation depending on age had no difference. And job motivation depending on activity career had significant difference in factor 1, 3, 4. 4. Forest interpreters' satisfaction differed depending on gender, age, activity career, whether the institution's certification. In detail, job satisfaction depending on gender had significant difference in factor 2, public value. Job satisfaction depending on whether the institution's certification had significant difference in both factor 1 and 2. Job satisfaction depending on age had no difference. Also job satisfaction depending on activity career had no difference in any factors. 5. It is showed that forest interpreters' motivation effected on satisfaction through correlation analysis. Also it is analyzed that Four factors of motivation affected 2 factors of satisfaction in the significance level of 0.01. In conclusion, detailed review and support forest interpreters' motivation factors - relationships, self development, recreation, forest love- is expected to yield high satisfaction containing personal and public value. In addition, job satisfaction depending on activity career had no difference in any factors. This implies that the period of activity affects little satisfaction. Also it implies that high-career forest interpreters need more attentions and policy. Therefore it is absolutely imperative that career is divided into beginner, intermediate, advanced and step-by-step support policy for forest interpreters' career and competency is provided. Then it is necessary to give different economic supports.
