This study is to find out how drama activity utilizing story-telling affects on prosocial behavior and creativity improvement of child. Furthermore, this study has meaning of seeking utilization of drama activity in children education field and providing basic material about educational effects. Study subjects according to this study purpose are as follows 1. Prosocial behaviors of child depending on experience of drama activity utilizing story-telling shows meaningful differences? 2. Creativity of child depending on experience of drama activity utilizing story-telling shows meaningful differences? The targets of this study were 60 children age of 4 and 5 attending D nursery and K nursery in Incheon. This study was performed by randomly selecting 30 children age of 4 and 5 attending D nursery as a testing group and 30 children age of 4 and 5 attending K nursery as a comparing group. Since residential area of two groups is similar in social and economical environments, average age of testing group was 58.9 and that of comparing group was 59.1 so that there was no meaningful differences between two groups, they were considered as homogeneous group. In testing group, drama activity was carried out after letting them hear selected story-tellings twice in a week for 7 weeks but in comparing group, free selected activity was carried out after letting them hear only selected story-tellings. Before the test, pre and post examinations were taken about prosocial behaviors and creativity of children in both testing group and comparing group. As for testing tools, 「Rating scale of children prosocial behavior (PBSYC)」 by Kim Yeongok (2003) was used to measure children prosocial behaviors and 「Overall test for children creativity (K-CCTYC)」 by Jeon Gyeongwon (2000) to measure children creativity. Pre and post test of prosocial behavior was recorded in rating scale by classroom teacher after examining children, and creativity test was performed by the researcher in separate test room apart from classroom during free selected activity time and afternoon. In order to find out effects of prosocial behavior and creativity between testing group which drama activity was carried out after story-telling and comparing group which free selected activity was carried out after story-telling, the difference between two groups was examined as analyzing collected data by SPSS 12.0 statistical program with t test. The results of this study are summarized as follows At first, the prosocial behavior of children who were participated in drama activity after story-telling in testing group was statistically meaningfully more increased than that who were not participated in drama activity in comparing group. If looking into seven kinds of lower details of prosocial behavior, children in testing group who were participated in drama activity had more meaningful increases in leadership, charity, communication, initiative consideration, attempting access, sharing, empathy, and emotional self-regulation than those in comparing group who were not participated in drama activity. At second, children creativity in testing group who were participated in drama activity also has been statistically meaningfully more increased than in comparing group who were not participated in drama activity. If looking into 4 kinds of lower details of creativity, children in testing group who were participated in drama activity had more meaningful increases in fluency, flexibility, originality, imagination than those in comparing group who were not participated in drama activity. As the results of the study, participation in drama activity after story-telling provided more positive effects on improvement of children prosocial behavior and creativity than without participation on drama activity after story-telling. The results means that if drama activity after story-telling is actively applied in child education field, prosocial behavior and creativity of children will be effectively improved. Also, further study on vitalizations of drama activity utilizing story-telling in child education field is necessary.
