A major issue in the design of model for MEMS Microphone Package Process is not only the assembly process for the micro sized device but also considering cost savings in the case of mass production. Design of cost savings must precede first and reducing the cost by maximizing the yield of the assembly process. In general emiconductor assembly process, yields is more than 99.9%, but in the MEMS Microphone Package Process, a yield of 90% or more is highly difficult to achieve. In this paper, the various ways to test each characteristic was studied by analyzing structural and electrical characteristics of MEMS Microphones. In addition, by analyzing the papers from domestic and outside of the study, we try to explain how to maximize the yield of the proposed test method. In particular, noise rejection and test way of TDMA was studied such that ASIC Die of MEMS Microphone is used Mobile devices based on TDMA characteristics. And the test method of Acoustic Die was studied in separate state and in assembled state. The Key point of this paper is the Package Process of MEMS, cost effective micro electro mechanical system(MEMS) package methods are required, as the cost incurred for the MEMS package is more than 80% of the manufacturing cost of a MEMS device. For this reason, cost-effective MEMS package is proposed in this paper for mass production using LTCC Based package process. Finally, 98.1% of production yield had been resulted. Currently MEMS and their signal conditioning ASICs are produced and packaged at different industrial sectors(different fabs). In order, to reduce costs and enhance yield and performance at the same time this quite expensive way of package has to be modified. This paper presents a different package concept. It uses LTCC technology to package thinned ASIC chips and Acoustic chips on a LTCC. For this approach some special technology is required. ASIC chips can be used with the new design to reject TDMA noise. Only Known Good Dies(KGDs) are packaged with the cost benefit of Die Attach technology. In the initial point of this type of package both ASIC and Acoustic chips are still parts of the Microphone. Package technique for MEMS devices such as selection of appropriate materials, proper process steps and approaches are crucial to meet the end product requirement in terms of overall package functionality and performances. In this paper, with the first pilot production applied to the original process model. The main cause of low yield was proved by analyzing the reasons of mis-position of LTCC and the Maximizing Yield Model. This had been designed with an estimated yield of 99.3%, with the second pilot production applied to the designed model, this method of study was the best recommended way for maximizing the yield of MEMS Microphone Package Process. This resulted in a good yield of 98.1%.
