Program Development of Integral Psychology Based Dance/Movement Psychotherapy : Effect on Stress Reduction of Adulthood원문보기

The purpose of this study is to develop and to verify the program of Integral Psychology based Dance/Movement Psychotherapy. First, for this study, the necessity to develop the stress-reduction program of bodymind integration was raised as an advanced research. The hypothesis that bodymind-integral Dance/Movement Psychotherapy could be an alternative to a stress research was proposed. To research this, Stress Response Inventory(SRI) of adult workers was analyzed as a research tool. This study chose body-mind-soul/spirit level programs with Dance/Movement Psychotherapy and its Stress Response Effects were comparatively analyzed. Dance/Movement Psychotherapy programs were organized through the Curative Spiral process considering consciousness development levels and the final program was effective in stress relief. The objects of study were the SRI test results to 242 workers in Seoul/Gyeonggi/Incheon in their 20s to 30s was conducted to participate in the Dance/Movement Psychotherapy program for stress relief. Respectively 30 and 90 workers joined three body-mind-soul/spirit level programs and their effects in stress relief were compared and analyzed. Finally, the experimental group 32 workers and compared group 30 workers were verified for SRI based on the Dance/Movement Psychotherapy. This study was investigated from August 2010 to March 2012. As a study method to verify the effect of the final-draft program, quantitative research method was used because it was a purpose of this study to measure stress and generalize therapy effects rather than psychological changes and meaning of experiences. The followings are the result of the study. First, the result of SRI analysis, as a research tool, showed an analysis that lower level factors were loss of motivation, somatization, repression of emotion, and anger expression. The result of reliability analysis also showed that reliability coefficients were .892 to loss of motivation. .851 to somatization, .867 to repression of emotion, .759 to anger expression, .934 to overall stress responses and every question was over 6 representing high inter-item consistency within questions. Second, AUM(Awareness Understanding Meditation) to body level, Improvisation Dance to mind level, Gurdjieff Dance Meditation to soul/spirit level were selected and effects of stress responses were comparatively analyzed. Especially Gurdjieff Dance Meditation is largely ineffective in stress relief, The ineffectiveness of Gurdjieff Dance Meditation, comprising mainly ‘intentional suffering’ and ‘split attention’, can be analyzed from Integral Psychology’s perspective to yield the conclusion that there is a Pre/Trans Fallacy at works; the program contents were incompatible with the participant’s level of consciousness development. The program was necessary to be organized through the Curative Spiral process considering the aim of psychotherapy and meditation, and levels of consciousness development. Third, Dance/Movement Psychotherapy program based on Integral Psychology was conceived, streamlining the content of body level, mind level, spirituality level program in accordance with the process within the Curative Spiral. The Curative Spiral process begins with the recontact and regression to the body, progressing slowly to personal level and existent level of the Centaur Stage. The organization of this procedures must begin by creating an opening for regression in way of recontact of one’s body and emotional catharsis, continue to express oneself in interpersonal relationships and thereby redefine one’s identity where he creatively constructs actions beyond conditional reflex, whereupon the subject undergoes ‘intentional suffering’ and ‘split attention’ ultimately to a integration of the body and the mind and a transpersonal spirituality. This streamlining of procedures follows closely the standard procedure in which a psychological problem is approached physically at first, an opening for emotional regression is made, and a transpersonal spirituality is attained via free interpersonal expression and the integration of the body and the mind(Centaur level, Existent level). The session procedures (though dependent upon the subject’s level of consciousness) therefore is constructed in the following pattern: it begins with physical play and the buildup of rapport, and Improvisation Dance for physical movement and self-expression, and AUM for emotional expressions and catharsis, and physical play once again for self-expression in interpersonal relationships, both Improvisation Dance and AUM for self-expression and the state of awareness, and Dance Meditation for the step from awareness to body-mind integration. However, because the primary objective of the program lies in stress relief, the program was curtailed from progressing into the stage where Dance Meditation strives for body-mind integration and transpersonal spirituality. Sessions were constructed in six meetings over the period of six weeks, considering the daily obligations non-patient, adult, and working subjects. Fourth, in evaluating program efficacy, the conceived program of Dance/Movement Psychotherapy for stress relief, based on the principles of Integrated Psychology, was conducted. The results show that the discrepancy between pre-post treatment response index to stress show that overall indicators of stress as well as four lower factors (loss of motivation, somatization, repression of emotion (p<.001) and anger expression (p<.05)) all showed statistically significant results. This study aimed at the fundamental characteristic of Dance/Movement Psychotherapy, of which the characteristics efficacious to stress relief were identified and analyzed by category of consciousness development (body, mind, spirit). It further took into consideration the subject’s level of consciousness, and adherence to the principles of the Integrated Psychology allowed for an avoidance of Pr
