This is a study that paid attention to the aspect of literary-creation space in Mungyeong-Saejae where is located in the northwest of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province. For this, it had the analytical subject as Chinese poetry, which was found by searching for title in works related to the database of Mungyeong-Saejae in 『Korean Literary Collection in Classical Chinese』(『韓國文集叢刊』) and Yeongnam-Sarim collection works, which are being served on web site. As Mungyeong-Saejae is a ridge where is located in Sobaeksanmaek(Sobaek mountain range), it was the largest transport center and the military-based strategic point at the same time in Joseon period. Due to this reason, it not only had played an important role politically, militarily, and diplomatically for a long time, but also had played no little role in possessing in an individual's personal path. This is because Mungyeong-Saejae was the space of communication, which forms the boundary of Yeongnam(嶺南) and Giho(畿湖) and simultaneously links Yeongnam and Hanyang. One geographical space is indicated diversely in a work depending on where the focus of recognizing the space is put such as nature, history, and life. In case of recognizing it as space of having rugged scenery or of Talsok(脫俗;aiming to escape from the mundane world), it has admiration for rugged geographical features of a mountain and also shows a will to assimilate with nature. In case of recognizing it as space of experiencing war, it shows consciousness of patriotism as well along with criticism for a declaration, which ended in having been defeated owing to fail to keep this place during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. In case of recognizing it as space of Hwanro(宦路;the way into the government service) and Sahyang(思鄕;yearning for home), it speaks reminiscently of emotion that is felt as a government official or is also revealed a wanderer's lonely feelings. This place was space for movement, not destination, thereby having been difficult to be revealed ideological consciousness, which tries to find the logic in Do(道) amid nature. Also, it was the militarily strategic point, thereby having been able to be positioned as space of yearning for peaceful land with mediating on importance of national defense. Yeongnam literary people in those days did need to pass this place for going to take the state examination. Thus, it was also space that is expressed dream and frustration on the way into the government service according to the contemporarily political situation. Mungyeong-Saejae was just one natural ridge that people simply come and go in the beginning. However, it could be revealed diversely with being engaged historical event and individual experience with the consciousness of naturally geographical space. This study will be able to give help to understanding realistic space, which was revealed in the middle of literary work. Also, it is expected to possibly contribute not only to the aspect of development in local literature, but also to the cultural industrialization in the humanities aspect, which is being now progressed diversely.
