This study investigated wax structure and inorganic material ingredient analysis of lip sticks made in Korea and foreign countries which women prefer recently by using fluorescence microscope, scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX). And it also conducted comparative analysis about fine structure of pearlescent pigment. As a result, findings show that pigment in the foreign made lipstick is smoother than the lipstick made in Korea and its edge is not sharpen and is not coarse and relatively smooth. The findings show that in the lipsticks which are used in this study there is silica added commonly even though the amount of it is different from each other and that 100㎚ organic coloring materials form a stack. And spherical silica has a lot of porous structure. This study found that there exist 500㎚-650㎚ wave length fluorescent materials after the lipsticks made in Korea and foreign countries were examined in order to confirm expression of fluorescent material. The finding shows that there are sponge shaped wax materials which aren’t dissolved in sediments of the lipstick made in Korea between nacreous pigments unlike foreign made lipstick which are in the same condition. As the result of component analysis of lipsticks, C, O, Al, Si, K, Ti, Fe components exist in both lipsticks made in Korea and other countries. But Mg, P, Ca components were detected in the lipsticks made in Korea and S component in foreign made lipsticks. In order to examine sweating of lipstick wax, each lipstick was molded after ceresin wax, candellila wax and microcrystalline wax were fixed and liquid paraffin oil, capric/caprylic triglyceride oil were added. After each lipstick was molded, wax structure of the lipstick put in a 45℃ incubator and structure of the lipstick put in 5℃ refrigerate were examined. As a result, it is confirmed that as the storage temperature rises, the size of wax structure increases and the shape of it modifies irregularly and it can cause perspiration phenomenon. This study shows that ceresin wax, candellila wax and microcrystalline wax mixed together with liquid paraffin oil to produce lipsticks(LS-1, LS-2) and capric/caprylic triglyceride oil added to produce lipsticks(LS-3, LS-4). After each type of lipsticks were molded, LS-1 and LS-3 was put into a cooling chamber(5°C). LS-2 and LS-4 was put into a cooling chamber(5°C) for 18 hours and kept in an incubator(45°C) for 5 hours and put again into a cool chamber(5°C). After that, the wax's three dimensional network structure was observed under scanning electron microscopy. Regardless of the kind of oil, the LS-1 and LS-3 wax structure had more distinct shape than the lipstick wax structure of LS-2 and LS-4. Also, regardless of the kind of wax, the three dimensional network structure was modified as the storage temperature increased. As a result, the lipstick's molding temperature increased, the wax's structure size also increased and the shape irregularly modified. This modification causes sweating phenomenon which affected lipstick's surface rheological property.
