This paper explains the key concept of a software architecture with AUTOSAR(AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture) version 4.0.3 on multiple control algorithm using multi-core processor to design a centralized or a hierachial hardware structure for the purpose of the real-time control between individual control algorithms in different ECUs for a vehicle. Recently, automotive industry is faced with social needs such as reinforcement of safety, enhancement of convenience and eco-friendly cars, so the growth of electronics in automotive industry applying state-of-the-art electronic systems is spreading very rapidly to satisfy these needs, and owing to the increasing of ECUs in a vehicle, the complexity of embedded software is getting more and more complicated. As mentioned above, such latest features on market are expected to lead and accelerate new challenges like the high performance multi-core processor, software standard(AUTOSAR), and functional safety regulation(ISO26262). At recently, cutting-edge active safety technology like ADAS and Combined Safety are widely researched. Combined Safety with chassis and safety control which are improving ride comfort at ordinary conditions and activating a control before reaching the limit on dangerous situations to protect pedestrians as well as people in a car. Conventionally, since it had been individually optimized the performance of each product, the integrated real-time control of separate functions should be carried out at the end of development to remove conflicting functions or functional interferences. So most of products should be individually developed and added new features on an existing product to cooperate with other ECUs. Owing to space restraints in a car and software compatibility, it would be found difficulties in adding new products or modifying old features. Complicated wires and excessive communications began to cause a lot of unavoidable problems to lower in quality. This paper suggests the concept of application and basic software architecture using multi-core processor to be capable of stable integrated control of multiple ECUs on condition that task configurations can minimize overhead such as synchronization of data, core to core communication for activating tasks or accessing shared data across cores, required as an embedded software for automotive ECU should be configured and scheduled static distribution of tasks to each core.
