Purpose: This study aimed to identify the influencing factors on nicotine dependency of middle school smokers and to provide the basic data for the effective smoking cessation program. Methods: Data were collected from May 3 to July 26 in 2013 by self-reported questionnaires.. The subjects of this study were 202 middle school smokers in D city. This study was to ascertain the influencing factors on nicitione dependency which are smoking enhanced factors, social environment factors, self-efficacy and impulsivity through literature review and construct integrated conceptual framework. For data analysis, SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. was used to calculate Percentage, mean, Standard deviation, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficient and Path analysis. Results: The fitness indices of the model were GIF= .995, AGFI = .929, IFI= .992, NF=I .986, and CFI= .992. The eight paths among nine were proved to be statistically significant. Smoking enhanced factors, social environment factors, self-efficacy and impulsivity were influenced on nicotine dependency directly. Smoking enhanced factors, social environment factors, and self-efficacy were influenced on nicotine dependency indirectly. Conclusion: The results showed that smoking enhanced factors, social environment factors, self-efficacy and impulsivity were significantly influenced on the nicotine dependency. Therefore, it is necessary to include intervention of smoking enhanced factors, social environment factors, self-efficacy and impulsivity to develop smoking cessation program for smoking with middle school students.
