Nondestructive test to examine its characteristics of concrete structure without its damage has developed in the process to solve problems in maintenance, reliability, durability, stability, and quality management for concrete along with deterioration of concrete structure and increased performance deterioration over time. Especially, ultrasonic velocity method makes it possible to continuously test without damage on inside of concrete using ultrasonic waves. With internal condition, assessment of mechanical characteristic can be made but estimation of concrete strength or study on crack were done only. However, systematic study about its mechanical characteristic was poor. The author studied change of ultrasonic velocity and maximum frequency, and change characteristic of dynamic elasticity modulus for blended cement concrete in various load hysteresis. ultrasonic velocity rapidly decreased to 67%~94% of concrete strength and dynamic elasticity modulus also decreased to similar level of ultrasonic velocity. This is because dynamic elasticity modulus is calculated using acoustic impedance calculated through ultrasonic velocity. It was found that deteriorated maximum frequency is influenced by change in load not by ultrasonic velocity or dynamic elasticity modulus. Blended cement concrete showed lower ultrasonic velocity or dynamic elasticity modulus than general concrete. With increase of replacement rate, ultrasonic velocity or dynamic elasticity modulus tend to decrease. But in case of frequency, increased load led to deterioration of frequency regardless of replacement rate. For continued study of mechanical characteristic of blended cement concrete, it would be necessary to further study mechanical characteristic of three component system concrete, four component concrete, and blended cement concrete of replacement rate over 50%.
