This study was carried out from April 9, 2013 to October 1 targeting Pinus densiflora communities of being distributed in southwest slope and northeast slope of Mt. Yongma in Seoul. It grasped phenological characteristics of P. densiflora in preparation for a climate change and surveyed on developmental characteristics in shoots, needles, cones, and seeds of pine as basic data of a strategy for survival and renewal of urban P. densiflora forests. As a result of surveying shoot growth, the opening of growth was begun from April 2 in both areas. Both areas came to be slow in growth speed from June 4, and then were nearly stopped the growth around August 9. Shoot length with 10.9cm in the southwest slope during this period was longer than the northeast slope with 6.5cm. In the analysis of growth in needles, all of the average length, surface area, diameter, and volume showed the bigger value in needles of the southwest slope than the northwest slope. In the final survey on September 3, the mutually big difference was shown with 10.3cm in needles of the southwest slope and 7.5cm in the northeast slope. Cones in two survey areas, which had shown similar growth from the beginning of survey, indicated difference in length and width of cone as the cone size of P. densiflora in the southwest slope grows quickly following June 3. However, its size began to get smaller from around August 9. In case of seed development, the seed in the southwest slope grew quickly from May 28, thereby having been 4.5mm in the seed length of the southwest slope and 2.7mm in the seed length of the northeast slope on June 24, thereby having been recorded to be the biggest record during the survey period. However, the seed length in the southwest slope had no big change from after this. On the other hand, the seed in the northeast slope showed continuous growth. Thus, there was no great difference with 4.8mm in the seed length of the southwest slope and 4.6mm in the seed length of the northeast slope on September 3. In early September, the inside of seed in two slopes completely matured. Lignification in cone began. Arranging the survey results, the growth speed in shoot, needle and cone of P. densiflora on Mt. Yongma was faster in southwest slope than the northwest slope. The growth speed and the final size in seed didn't show slope-based characteristic. However, in the internally maturing process, the southwest slope was progressed more quickly than the northeast slope.
