동작 횟수와 근피로도의 상관 관계를 보기 위해, 30초 간 각 10회, 20회, 30회의 EFE 동작을 측정하여, 위팔두갈래근 긴갈래(long head of biceps brachii), 위팔두갈래근 짧은갈래(short head of biceps brachii), 위팔근(brachialis)의 근피로도를 비교 검증하였다.

Commonly used electromyography (EMG) based method for measuring muscle fatigue is to use mean power frequency or median frequency of electromyogram (EMG) when a subject performs static contraction. This method is simple but vulnerable to motion like daily life activities. To remove noise caused by the motion, most previous works used post-processing like pattern recognition. Also, muscle fatigue is not connected to motion. In this paper, kinematic information is adopted to EMG based muscle fatigue measurement to overcome limitation of traditional method. EMG and kinematic information are used for calculating coefficient of EMG-muscle activation transfer function. Subsequent input of EMG is transformed to muscle activation, and it is input to muscle fatigue model for calculating muscle fatigue. This method has advantage of making motion correspond to not only muscle fatigue but also biomechanics properties like muscle force and muscle activation. For conveniently measuring two signals EMG and motion simultaneously, One bodied sensor constituted of EMG and inertial measurement unit (IMU) was used. Biomechanics simulator OpenSim was used for calculating biomechanics data, but it requires marker based optical motion capture (MbMoCap) file as input. Therefore, Marker position was estimated using IMU. One of the simplest motions, elbow flexion-extension (EFE) is measured, and EFE model arm26 was used. At the calibration stage, model's default static pose was captured by IMU and MbMoCap simultaneously, and coordinates of MbMoCap and IMU were tuned to Opensim. After this stage, maker position was estimated based on geometry of model and IMU, and this was input to OpenSim for calculating joint angle. This joint angle was compared to joint angle captured by MbMoCap for each cycle of EFE (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 sec.). Result showed there’s no significant difference between cycles. Joint angle was input to OpenSim for calculating muscle activation, and this muscle activation was input to three-compartment muscle fatigue model for calculating dimensionless number muscle fatigue. Muscle fatigue of three segments muscles, long head of biceps brachii, short head of biceps brachii, and brachialis was measured for 30 seconds for each 10, 20, 30 times EFE. Result showed there's significant difference between times of EFE.
