Korea's blade culture has been reported since the mid-1980s and has accumulated many resources with constant excavations up to the latest excavation in Suyanggae Ⅵ Zone. Despite the increase in resources, most researchers have simply introduced the relics and artifacts found. Korea's blade culture has not been discussed in terms of characteristics, techniques, and chronology in relation to other areas in Northeast Asia. with the above realization, I studied 13 site of stone blade culture. The method of study was property analysis of relics found in each place of site based on the given criteria. Considering the blade cores observed, with emphasis on Yongsan-dong site, Gorye-ri site, Oji-ri site, there was a technology system that mostly used the hinging technique to create the blades. Also, larger blade cores had 1 side for hitting and 1 side for working or two sides for hitting and 1 side for working. This shows the technology system to make stable blades with surfaces for hitting and working in order to make larger stone blades. On the other hand, medium and smaller blade cores had various types of surfaces for hitting and working. Most blades were broad-shaped. The largest quantity has 2/3 remaining, followed by those with 1/3 remaining. The blades were usually broken off vertically. This allows us to assume that the makers tried to break off the blades vertically. The surfaces of blades had both the shapes of trapezoid and triangle, showing that the surfaces were continuously peeled off. Crested blades have been found in Yongsan-dong site, Gorye-ri site, and Jingeuneul site. This technology entails a system that allows the adjustment of a side of core to take off multiple numbers of blades. The method of making crested blades was one of the strategic molding methods for continuous making of blades. The stone tools found in the site include tandge points, scrapers, end scrapers, burins, and notches. The most frequently found type of stone blade is the tandge points. Tandge points have been found in Hopyeong-dong site, Yongsan-dong site, Gorye-ri site, Jingeuneul site, and Sinhwa-ri site. All of them were made of stone blades and used stone blades most frequently. What changed first with the emergence of stone blade culture in Korea was the change of stone materials suitable for applying new technologies. As a result of reviewing the groups of stone blades found so far, most frequently used types of rocks were rhyolite, hornfels, tuff, mudstone, and shale. The characteristics of Korea's stone blade culture can be classified into two periods: Period Ⅰ (40,000-30,000 B.P.) and Period Ⅱ (30,000-15,000B.P.). The following summarizes the conclusion of comparing Korea's stone blade culture with that of other areas in Northeast Asia based on the above findings: First, the chronology of stone blade culture of Northeast Asia shows that the stone blade culture existed until around 45,000 B.P. in Siberia, close to 30,000 B.P. Second, the analysis of technology and form of blade cores shows that the blade cores in Siberia can be classified into various shapes of cores for larger blades and the cores with 1 side for hitting and 1 side for working for medium and smaller blades. Third, the stone tools from Korea's stone blade culture, similar to Siberia and China, included scrapers, end scrapers, and burins. However, tandge points were unique to Korea. No relics with the typical characteristics of tandge points have been found in other Northeast Asian regions.
