This study is intended to confirm the safety of the extract of sea cucumber for scalp care, verify the hair loss prevention effect and effects of the extract of sea cucumber on scalp and hair and, present the possibility of developing anti-hair loss and hair growth solution. The extract of sea cucumber was dipped and mixed with DPPH solution. After the mixture was left at room temperature for a certain period of time, its absorbance was measured according to DPPH method. Free radical scavenging activity (SC50) was determined by the amount (ml) of the extract of sea cucumber required to eliminate free radical by 50%. The results have revealed that the antioxidant activity effect is the highest when FRS is 5%: ① FRS was 27.2% when the amount (ml) of the extract of sea cucumber was 0.5ml; ② FRS was 47.1% when the amount (ml) of the extract of sea cucumber was 1ml; FRS was 79.9% when the amount (ml) of the extract of sea cucumber was 3ml; ④ FRS was 90.8% when the amount (ml) of the extract of sea cucumber was 5ml. Scalp care solutions were formulated with the extract of sea cucumber. Control group and test group received the treatment of scalp care solutions containing 5% of extracts of sea cucumber once a week.
