This survey was conducted every month between January, 2014 and December, 2014 at the three points(Haje, St. 1;∼Biungdo, St. 2, Sinsido, St. 3) of the ecological and environmental area in Saemankeum. The birds observed during the survey period belongs in 11 orders, 21 families, 42 species, 1,365 individuals. Average number of species were 18(SD=3.35, range=12∼23, n=12) and average individuals were 483(SD=311.38, range=180∼998, n=12). Legal protected species found in this survey were 3 kestrels which is the natural monument 323-8 and 8 oyster catchers which is the natural monument 326. The three major dominant species were mallards(26.23%), spot-billed ducks(21.23%), black-tailed gulls(6.23%). In the spring survey 26 species and 1,087 individuals were observed and the three major dominant species were mallards(32.93%), spot-billed ducks(26.40%), black-tailed gulls(6.16). In the summer survey 24 species and 321 individuals were observed and the three major dominant species were sparrows(19.63%), black-tailed gulls(15.58). cormorants(13.40%). In the autumn survey 22 species and 358 individuals were observed and the three major dominant species were black-tailed gulls(15.58), sparrows(19.63%), magpies(9.66%). In the winter survey 21 species and 1,001 individuals were observed and the three major dominant species were mallards(34.27%), spot-billed ducks(28.17%), gray ducks(7.49%). This study along with reference data will provide a basic data to construct ecological and environmental area in the future.
