Our nation, where the highlands cover seventy percent of the territory, shows increasing cases of which slopes are cut to secure sites and create new slopes, in order to develop urban and residential areas, to expand traffic network, and to achieve industrial growth. The created slopes are categorized into three types: soil slope, rock slope and complex slope. And the slopes need to be designed in accordance with each characteristic. However, the slopes are being created with standardized design methodology, without consideration of soil or rock categorization. Therefore, in order to create more practical and stable slopes, it requires to apply material properties with consideration of soil or rock categorization, and further analyze, construct and maintain them. This study is to acknowledge the difference of researched data about discontinuities to application of numerical analysis when reviewing the slope's stability at large construction sites of discontinuity. Therefore, it has reviewed differences in numerically analyzed results that are obtained from precise inspections on discontinuities and general models for reviewing purposes. For this, it performed precise geological ground survey and stereographic projection analysis, and further performed indoor tests to analyze the results using finite element methods(FEM) and discrete element methods(DEM), whilst quantitatively calculating engineering properties of rock mass. In this study, it is to analyze the calculated fracture models, to find more trustful analysing methodology that shows the most similar shape to the real slope, and to suggest applicable methodologies to rock slopes that are similar to that of researched areas.
