This research is a survey research based on the PRECEDE model to examine the influence factors of endocrine disruptor exposing behaviors of mothers of infants . The test subjects of this research were gathered through the maternal community web-site of mother of infants in city W. The final test subjects were 120 mothers that were residents of city W with infants between the ages of 1 month and 36 months. The duration of the survey was from September 25th to October 8th and the parameters used in the survey were the prerequisite factors of ‘knowledge on endocrine disruptors’, sensitivity to environmental diseases’ and the strengthening factors of ‘the health status of the infants perceived by the mother’, ‘maternal attachment’, and the possibility factors of ‘whether or not there had been participation in environmentally friendly activities’ and the conclusive parameter of ‘exposing behaviors to endocrine disruptors’. The data was analyzed using IBM SPSS 20.0 to conduct descriptive statistical analysis, chi-square testing, Independent t-test and regressional analysis. The main results of the research are as follows. 1) The surveyed general characteristics of the test subjects were shown to be that the average age of the mothers was 32.65(±3.81), where 88 (77.3%) mothers were in middle income families, and 90 (75%) mothers had a university degree or higher education and 80 (66.7%) of the mothers were full-time stay home mothers. The average age of the children was 14.09 months (±9.49), and 44 (36.7%) of the children had been diagnosed with endocrine diseases. 2)The survey score for knowledge on endocrine disruptors, which is a prerequisite factor out of the influence factors of endocrine disruptors exposing behaviors, was an average of 16.51 points (±4.29) out of a total of 24 points, and sensitivity to endocrine diseases of children was an average of 13.97 points (±2.33) out of a total of 20 points. The health status of the infants perceived by the mother and maternal attachment, which are strengthening factors, were an average of 8.17 points (±1.47) out of a total of 10 points and an average of 121.41 points (±8.31) out of a total of 130 points, respectively. There were 24 mothers (20%) who had participated in environmentally friendly activities, which is a possibility factor. 3) The results of analyzing the influence factors of endocrine disruptor exposing behaviors according to general characteristics showed that there was a significant difference in knowledge on endocrine disruptors depending on education level (t=-2.853, p=.005). Also both the sensitivity to endocrine diseases of children and the health status of the infants perceived by the mother were shown to have significant differences depending on whether or not the children had been diagnosed with endocrine diseases at (t=2.843, p=.005) and (t=2.880, p=.005), respectively. 4) The factors that influenced endocrine disruptor exposing behaviors were whether or not mothers had participated in environmentally friendly activities (t=-3.274, p<.001) and the health status of the infants perceived by the mother (t=-2.074, p<.040), and these two factors explained 15.3% of the endocrine disruptor exposing behaviors. The factor with the most significant influence was shown to be whether or not mothers had participated in environmentally friendly activities (β=-.290). The results of this research confirmed that whether or not mothers had participated in environmentally friendly activities and the health status of the infants perceived by the mother had the most significant influence on the endocrine disruptor exposing behaviors of mothers with infants , and it is concluded that based on this research to reduce endocrine disruptor exposing behaviors in the daily lives of mothers with infants and by preventing the occurrence of endocrine diseases that can affect infants so that children can be raised with good health, by providing detailed information on endocrine disruptors, there is a need to develop and implement such an environment related program that mothers can participate in.
