This paper aims to investigate whether the type of human beings who overcome Friedrich Nietzsche's nihilism can be substituted for the existential emptiness felt by contemporaries who are unable to find the meaning of life. Nietzsche described a modern crisis, in which humans, who are supposed to seek the meaning of life and set their own goals are no longer able to ask existential questions about themselves. Nietzsche called this crisis nihilism . According to Martin Heidegger, the problem of nihilism raised by Nietzsche was not only limited to 19th century Europe rather it belonged to a historical movement that had dominated previous centuries and would continue to shape the next century. This shows that Nietzsche's assessment of solution for nihilism were reflections of the introspective nature of western civilization that is, Nietzsche's ideas were influenced by existing Western philosophy, and he proposed ways of overcoming nihilism in order to create a healthy civilization. Nietzsche called himself as the first complete nihilist who fully recognized nihilism and proposed ways of overcoming nihilism. His ways of overcoming nihilism start from a complete dissolution of the existing self-evident facts and become whole after arriving at the conclusion of creative affirmation in life through the inversion of values. it was the process of liberating from the existing perspectives which acknowledge part of life while ignoring the essential part of existence that wants to rise and grow, constantly, and embracing the true self, even pain and contradiction in life. Such attitude in life is the life of Übermensch which Nietzsche described as an ideal life and also means the attitude of creative life which interprets the world from one’s own perspective and can find a unique meaning inside.
