It is important to improve efficiency and guarantee stable water quality in a limited site for an advanced wastewater treatment and projects of water quality improvement, recently. The general principle of a final sedimentation tank in a biological wastewater treatment process is a solid-liquid separation by increasing the size and weight of particles in the tank. It is common to use the final sedimentation tank to remove the most particle materials. The type of a final sedimentation tank can be divided into rectangular and circular types, and there are many researches in terms of the characteristics of a final sedimentation tank. In this study, the sedimentation unit was used with the SSVI(stirred sludge volume index) principle to improve the sedimentation efficiency in a circular clarifier by enhancing bio-flocculation due to the interference of turbulence and a short-cut stream. It is about the self-sedimentation of particle materials in a limited site area with the improvement of feed wall, and the adjustment of rpm and a baffle angle. Furthermore, the result of this study can be expected to improve the efficiency of a circular clarifier for a performance warranty.
