Body mass index (BMI) is also used in an obesity criteria if you do performances, productivity, health, described as the main clinical variables. The fat will vary depending on gender and age levels and BMI in men, and the fat of the elderly more points in BMI level. BMI is also emerging as a major cause of many lifestyle diseases, but reveals that there is a related disease can be explained as BMI level. BMI and particularly data of prehypertensive elderly people considering the specific characteristics are not presented subdivided. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between blood pressure, body mass index (BMI) and lean body mass (LBM) in elderly male with hypertension. We analyzed correlation of systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) in BMI and LBM. As a result, the correlation between systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and mean arterial pressure (MAP) and BMI of normal weight, overweight, obese men with prehypertension. There was no statistically significant difference among the three groups, but all blood pressures tended to increase with increasing BMI. In addition, there was no statistically significant difference in SBP, DBP, MAP and LBM of normal weight, overweight, obese men with prehypertension, but blood pressure decreased with increasing LBM. In conclusion, there was high possibility that elderly men with prehypertension whose BMI was higher than 25 kg/m2 is in dangerous to hypertension and cardiovascular disease. In addition, this study were needed to increase physical activity level for elderly men with prehypertension.
