Effect of Psychomotor Program on the Social Skill and Withdrawal Behavior of Children with Intellectual Disabilities원문보기

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of psychomotor programs on the social skill and withdrawal behavior of children with intellectual disabilities, aged 12 to 13. The objects of this study consisted of two groups : an experimental group of six children and a control group of six children, who are all enrolled in the D·athletic Development Center in City S in Korea. The study was proceeded for 12 weeks, twice per week, 40 minutes in one session. In regard to social skill among between cohorts, each Social Skill Rating System (SSRS) program was conducted before and after session. Regarding withdrawal behavior, check list was utilized during the program, once per three terms, eight times in total. The data analysis was conducted to figure out the effects of psychomotor programs on the social skill based on paired t-test between groups and the repeated measure ANOVA was conducted to measure the change of withdrawal behavior with SPSS 21.0, the hypothesis testing is fixed to significance level of p<.05. The results of the above analysis were as follows :
First, the experimental group of the 12-week psychomotor program showed statically meaningful difference in social skill.
Second, the experimental group of the 12-week psychomotor program showed statically meaningful difference in withdrawal behavior.
In conclusion, the psychomotor program has shown positive effects on the social skill and withdrawal behavior of children with intellectual disabilities.
