In this study, we have developed a polymer heat-dissipating material with improved thermal conductivity by using boron nitride as a filler in epoxy polymer and filling the spherical epoxy particles as a three-dimensional structure. In the past, attempts have been made to increase the thermal conductivity by simply adding a thermally conductive filler. In this study, however, attempts are made to increase the thermal conductivity by controlling the arrangement of the filler using unused epoxy particles. Epoxy particles were synthesized by emulsion inversion method, and shape and size were confirmed by scanning electron microscope(SEM). BN powder and epoxy particles were taken into consideration by size. Composite materials were identified by SEM and transmission electron microscope(TEM) to confirm the dispersion of epoxy particles and BN fillers. Thermal properties were also confirmed by thermal conductivity, thermal expansion coefficient and thermogravimetric analysis, and mechanical properties were confirmed by confirming tensile strength and elastic modulus. Composites filled with epoxy particles and BN increased thermal conductivity by up to 190% compared to composite materials filled with BN, increased by 500% over pure epoxy, and confirmed effective thermal conductivity with small amounts of BN using epoxy particles.
