4) RMR과 관련하여, RMR의 절대 값을 평가한 RMR(㎖·min-1), RMR(Kcal·min-1), RMR(KJ·min-1), 그리고 RMR(Kcal·day-1)은 NWO와 Obesity에서 Normal에 비해 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 반면, RMR의 상대 값을 평가한 RMR(KJ·kg-1 FW·h-1)은 Normal이 NWO와 Obesity 집단에 비해 유의하게 높게 나타났으며, RMR(㎖·kg-1·min-1), RMR(KJ·kg-1·h-1), RMR(KJ·kg-1 FFW·h-1), 그리고 RMR(Kcal·kg-1·day-1)은 세 집단 간에 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다.

The present study compared and analyzed physical fitness, metabolic syndrome risk factors, and resting metabolic rates according to body mass index (BMI) and percent body fat (%BF) in 20s females. Fifty-one women in their 20s were divided into three groups, i.e., a normal group(n=18), an NWO group(n=18), and an obesity group(n=15) according to body mass index and percent body fat. Physical fitness, metabolic syndrome risk factors, and resting metabolic rates were measured and compared among three groups. Main results of the present study were as follows: 1) Physical fitness were not significantly different among the three groups. 2) Regarding 1-RM, arm curl, leg extension, leg press, and arm curl per body weight were significantly higher in obesity group than normal group and NWO group. 3) The metabolic syndrome risk factors of waist circumference, systolic blood pressure, and diastolic blood pressure were significantly higher in obesity group than normal group and NWO group, while HDL-C was significantly higher in normal group than NWO group and obesity group. 4) Regarding RMR, RMR(㎖·min-1), RMR(Kcal·min-1), RMR (KJ·min-1), and RMR(Kcal·day-1) were significantly higher in obesity group than normal group and NWO group. RMR(KJ·kg-1 FW·h-1) was significantly higher in normal group than NWO group and obesity group. RMR(㎖·kg-1·min-1), RMR(KJ·kg-1·h-1), RMR(KJ·kg-1 FFW·h-1), and RMR(Kcal·kg-1·day-1) were not significantly different among the three groups. A summary of the results above shows that women in their 20s according to their BMI and percent body fat display differences in health levels, not physical fitness levels, and the NWO group, in particular, tended to display increased risks of metabolic diseases due to their HDL-C being lower than the normal group and their relative RMR level being similar to the obesity group.
