In this paper, flexible thermoelectric generator system based on bulk thermoelectric material has been proposed and demonstrated successfully. Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3 (p-type) and Bi2Te2.7Se0.3 (n-type) bulk thermoelectric materials were sintered using Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) method. The figure of merit (ZT) of those at room temperature showed about 1.0 and 0.6 respectively. These thermoelectric materials were assembled with additional joints and holders. In addition, metal heat sink could be contained using its self-sustainable structure. As a result, a prototype of the flexible thermoelectric generator system which contains 20 thermoelectric couples was fabricated successfully. To measure power generation performance of the prototype, random shape of curved heat source was set. Placing the prototype above the curved heat source, it generated 1.7 mW at 353 K. Furthermore, the prototype had been worn on the person’s wrist and its performance was measured. It showed nearly 80 uW when wearer ran slowly. Moreover, correcting faults of the prototype, the other one was demonstrated. It showed nearly 90 uW when wearer walked at 5 m/s. This results show the possibility of the thermoelectricity as a power source of the wearable electronics.
