Currently, HPC is one of the most representative services provided by the national supercomputing center and it has become an important factor that determines the level of science and technology of a country. However, HPC centers face several problems including expensive system construction and operation costs, inflexible resource workload management, inability to support resource scalability, lack of integrated management systems, incompatibility, and complexity with handling traditional HPC parallel jobs. Although related researchers have tried to solve the above-mentioned problems by adopting a virtual machine-based cloud environment, they have encountered new problems such as important performance and workload management issues. The virtual machine-based cloud is not suitable for providing HPC services. Therefore, we propose a container-based new approach to provide HPC service in the cloud environment. In this paper, we defined the requirements for solving the abovementioned problems by developing a container-based HPC Cloud system that can satisfy both HPC user and center administrator requirements. Through this paper, we are expecting to provide a value of the research by presenting a new approach to the field of HPC Cloud. In addition, through collaboration with the national supercomputing center, we expect to provide service value by suggesting a user-friendly and efficient system that consider the convenience of HPC users and administrators.
